The Blackhawks have captured the Presidents' Trophy for the first time in 22 years, according to an ESPN.com report.

Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists, and the Blackhawks clinched the NHL's best record on Wednesday night with a 4-1 win over the Oilers.

Former Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff will be behind Canada's bench for the world championship next month in Stockholm and Helsinki. 

Ruff was fired by the Sabres on Feb. 20, ending a 16-year run as the team's coach. He coached Canada to a silver medal in the 2009 world championship and was an associate coach under Mike Babcock on Canada's 2010 gold-medal Olympic team.

"I said I want to coach," Ruff said Wednesday.
